You should work on your relationships first.

One reason we homeschool is because we like our kids and we want to spend more time with them. We want to have strong family ties and a rooted affection that only comes from sharing time and stories together.

But often that’s not how we behave or talk on typical days. Our kids might not even know that we like them because we spend more time complaining or nagging than enjoying.

We need to be aware of those relational connections and whether we really are strengthening them or ripping them apart.
